

The symposium will take place in Vienna within the context of the Spring Workshop of the LE:NOTRE Project, an European Union funded Thematic Network in Landscape Architecture. It and will be hosted by Vienna University of Technology. The City of Vienna has recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the 'Wald und Wiesen Gürtel' - the Woodland and Meadow Belt around the city, which was established in 1905 by the city council as one of Europe's first green belts. Vienna's rich urban landscape includes commercial vineyards and part of a national park, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and historic gardens and contemporary parks, ... Vienna University of Technology coordinates the LE:NOTRE Project, a European Union funded Thematic Network in Landscape Architecture, involving more than one hundred university departments specialising in landscape planning, design and management from over 30 countries in Europe and beyond.
